Rochelle Heritage Festival Parade
As a thank you to the Rochelle Area Community Foundation for awarding
Kings Library and School with a set of 54 Carole Marsh Mystery books,
5th-8th grade students marched in the Heritage Festival Parade along with Rochelle Foundation members. Our appreciation goes out to them for donating the books and inviting us to participate! Also, thank you to the students & parents for your support!
Monthly Motivational Reading Program...
Color Your World….Read!
Students receive stickers and praise for participation
and their names are placed in a monthly drawing.
K-4 students received take home activities to learn library skills or receive themed coloring sheets. 5-8 students do varied activities relating to the library, reading, or computer lab. All students who demonstrate an act of “character” towards others also receive “gotchas” for good behavior. These students are placed in the raffle for Library Student of the Month. Two winners are chosen from each class. Students receive an award certificate and their photos are placed upon a bulletin board in the library. Congratulations to all who participated!!!!

MORE EXCITING NEWS! KINGS SCHOOL ONCE AGAIN RECEIVES BOOKS AND THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CHILDREN’S CHOICE BOOK AWARDS ONCE AGAIN!
Kings students and staff would like to acknowledge Dr. Pam Farris for her generosity in donating to Kings Library the National Children’s Choice Award books and inviting us to participate in this valuable program once again this year.
Parents/guardians/grandparents/families, MOST IMPORTANTLY, A HUGE THANK YOU TO YOU, for supporting all of Kings Library programs, for encouraging your children to read, and for supporting our school, by attending and purchasing books at our book fair this year. Because of you, we earned $924.36 worth of new books for our library and classroom libraries.
