Wow! What an exciting year that we have had so far! This group of Kindergartners has been loads of fun and I expect that it will only get better!
We will spent the first two weeks of school getting to know each other and gaining a good understanding of how ‘big kid’ school operates with all of it’s rules and schedules.
September will bring many exciting new experiences for the Kindergartners. We will begin our letter a week program and will officially have two words under our belts by the end of the month. We will also start our math series and explore our five senses in science.
By the end of September, the first round of ISEL testing will be completed which will give me a good idea of each child’s existing knowledge base. The more that I know about each student, the better I will be able to serve them as their teacher. The same ISEL test will be given in the spring in order to monitor the children’s progress.
