Kings Board of Education The Board of Education meets the third Wednesday (unless otherwise noted) each month at 6:30 PM in the Kings School library. See meeting dates for 2007-08 below. |

Committees: Fire/Safety, Tort, and Insurance- General fire and safety protection, special safety protection, special safety programs and education, legal responsibilities including general liability, legal council, and compliance with governmental rules and mandates, comprehensive insurance coverage including yearly recommendations and review. Personnel- All personnel contracts, agreements and job descriptions, contract negotiations, personnel grievances and complaints, employee improvement programs including working conditions and morale, new employee interviews and existing employee annual reviews. Finance- Monthly finance review, long term finance planning, additional funding research, long and short term goals, yearly budget, annual audit review and compliance. Education- Education needs and assessment, educational resources, curriculum planning, special education, lunch program, high school transition, special student assemblies and programs, extra curricular activities, and governmental mandate compliance. Building and Maintenance- Structure/ grounds maintenance and improvement, fixture and furnishing inventory, storage spaces, new building additions, custodian responsibilities and job description, physical plant and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair, maintenance documentation, long range planning. Transportation- Equipment maintenance and repair, new bus planning and purchase, bus and fuel storage, transportation safety, bus driver compliance, transportation routes, discipline policies and rules.
