5th Grade
The 5th Grade students learned about the artist
Henri Matisse. As he grew older, he cut
And pasted his work rather than painting.
The students discovered that cutting shapes first
Without a composition in mind was easy.
It was the making of the story that seemed
Challenging. Fifth grade was up to the
Challenge, though, and came through with
No problems. Matisse would have
Been proud.

Weavings
Here the students demonstrate the results
of sometimes painstaking patience
that it took to weave each line of color
on their cardboard looms.
